Build A New Life In The Country

One of my favorite shows is from the UK called Build A New Life In The Country. http://www.five.tv/programmes/buildanewlife/

It's all about people who decide to spend all their money on their "dream", only to find out that renovation costs a LOT more than they ever can imagine. And things like building permits and contractors are a nightmare....hmmmm...think I've had that nightmare before. (hi Jay)

So, I think we've finally found the one for us....and we can be in by Christmas:*) And this one even has a roof, which many of them lack.

Almost forgot the best part

We went to a..........PIG MUSEUM. Actually, Lucky Pig Museum. This thing had 3 floors of more pig ____ than you can imagine. Everything possible thing that the woman could buy was there, and not much room for anymore. My favorite was the stuffed baby two-headed pig. Check out this link for more info....Not to be missed:*) Really, just to say you went!

A day in Bad Wimpfen

Thought there was a handwerk fest, but no fest. So we had a great day walking around, eating Thai food, climbing towers, and buying a few presents:*)

And note, the photo of the group contains no little girls...a first, as they always hog the photos!

Mom and Ava go to the park Saturday

Special guest for one night only!

AWAGAW meeting last night

Only had 3 in attendance, which isn't very good for my first meeting. But it was a beautiful night outside and thought it would be a good idea to get my chapter on it's feet.

Present:
Katie
John
Ava

Going to a medieval fest today

It's in Bad Wimpfen and that's all I know. Oh yeah, there should be beer and brats, and maybe half a chicken or something. Oh, and pretzels! Will post photos as they come in...

Note: no fest

My friend Anne's new club

AWAGAW

I am starting my own organization. Everyone has these organizations that they belong to that they use as an excuse. They might bible studies, girl scout leader support groups, or book clubs. I have decided to start my own.

AWAGAW (an acronym for Anne Wants A Glass A Wine) is an international, social beer and wine (Mojitos too) group that allows youth to hang around. The organization is headquartered around Anne's patio table in Sindelfingen, Germany. AWAGAW provides local friends a place to talk, drink, and laugh as well as travel opportunities. No funds are raised, no orphans are helped, no social ills are solved, there are no lessons to learn but a great social network is developed. To start your AWAGAW group, gather a few friends around your table. This is now my new excuse on why I can't attend the PTA meeting, the officer wife's luncheon, or anything else like that. "I would love to, but I have a AWAGAW meeting."

Currently this organization has four chapters.

Sindelfingen West - chairman Anne
Sindelfingen Ost- chairman Katie
San Diego- chairman Dana
Norfolk, VA- chairman Emily *this organization is often known by AWAGAM on Mojito night.

For information on joining or starting your chapter, please contact Anne or just start your own chapter!

Monday morning when kids got the camera

We were packing up camp, so I let the kids have the camera. And Ken and Anne, you may not want to look where your son went:*)

Going Camping in Garmisch

Boy, did we have a great time! No rain, no gain is our new motto! Friday night ate Serbian food (can you say more meat), Saturday hiked up a gorge near the 1936 Olympic Ski Jump Stadium, drank a bit, and then ate....more meat. Sunday, we finally got a beautiful day to go to an antique tractor parade and the best fest we've been to yet. Lots of lederhosen and dirndels to be seen everywhere! Sorry no photos of that, as I left my camera in the car. But you can check here for additional photos of our trip http://dehanfamily.blogspot.com/
