My friend Anne's new club

AWAGAW

I am starting my own organization. Everyone has these organizations that they belong to that they use as an excuse. They might bible studies, girl scout leader support groups, or book clubs. I have decided to start my own.

AWAGAW (an acronym for Anne Wants A Glass A Wine) is an international, social beer and wine (Mojitos too) group that allows youth to hang around. The organization is headquartered around Anne's patio table in Sindelfingen, Germany. AWAGAW provides local friends a place to talk, drink, and laugh as well as travel opportunities. No funds are raised, no orphans are helped, no social ills are solved, there are no lessons to learn but a great social network is developed. To start your AWAGAW group, gather a few friends around your table. This is now my new excuse on why I can't attend the PTA meeting, the officer wife's luncheon, or anything else like that. "I would love to, but I have a AWAGAW meeting."

Currently this organization has four chapters.

Sindelfingen West - chairman Anne
Sindelfingen Ost- chairman Katie
San Diego- chairman Dana
Norfolk, VA- chairman Emily *this organization is often known by AWAGAM on Mojito night.

For information on joining or starting your chapter, please contact Anne or just start your own chapter!

Our Aunt Frannie, from Creston, Iowa, used to call this Therapy.

When I visited her in 1995 she asked me one evening if I would like to attend her Therapy group. I said 'Sure!' And she took me off to a friend's house (they rotated houses) for an evening of drinking and chatting.
